Dear Colleagues:
Before 2008 disappears over the horizon in a cloud of dust, chocolate
wrappers or chorus of "THANK GOODNESS", I thought it might be of interest to
know what GLAC accomplished during those 12 months:
- We ended the year with a
net revenue gain.
- We increased our membership by 3%
- We adopted new Bylaws allowing for standardization with other chapters
- We celebrated our 40th Chapter Anniversary
- We hosted visits by both the AFP International Chairman and President
- We updated and restructured our website
- We conducted a Member Survey and published the results
- We launched the 40th Fund to support additional member resources
- We achieved our Every Member Campaign Goal - (25% will now be returned
for chapter use)
- We expanded our luncheon sponsor program
- We hosted a free audio-conference on Ethics
- We incorporated teleconferencing into our Governance meeting structure
to afford more participation
- We held our 23rd National Philanthropy Day celebration with our new
host, Fritz Coleman of KNBC Channel 4
- We saw a substantial increase in luncheon meeting attendance
- We revised the Board Nominating process to allow electronic submissions
and provide greater member outreach
- We enhanced our communications through the use of the eSlate, eVites,
and eBlasts
- We offered a comprehensive CFRE Study Group plan
- And we have received the Chapter Ten Star Award for 2008
My thanks to each and every one of you for your help and support in achieving
these results. These are shared accomplishments which I hope will make you
proud to be a member of GLAC.
Here's to an equally successful 2009,
Jan
